AMP Tower Australia

The AMP Tower is one of the tallest constructions in Australia, standing at over 1,000 ft. The top of the tower is anodised aluminium. It hadn’t been cleaned for many years, had become badly stained and had lost a lot of its golden colour. In preparation for the Olympic Games it was decided to renovate the tower. A team of abseilers renovated the aluminium to restore the tower back to its original glory. Ritecoat was then applied to maintain the golden appearance and help with future
maintenance.

Thames Water Ring Main Tower, Shepherds Bush,

This is probably the biggest barometer in Britain. A shining 20 metre tower of glass, steel, blue neon and bubbling water that lights up in the Shepherds Bush sky. The blue barometer is one of West London’s most talked about landmarks. The tower is one of the few visible signs of Thames Water’s £250million ring main that runs in a 50-mile circuit deep below London and is designed to mask an unsightly surge relief pipe which acts as a giant pressure valve. The glass and stainless steel have been protected using the ClearShield and Ritecoat Systems respectively.

Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, Kobe,Japan

Akashi Kaikyo Bridge is the longest suspension bride in the world and has an observation promenade between the double decks at the north end. The promenade has open windows (mesh, but no glass) throughout its length and the internal surfaces are always exposed to saline conditions. The wainscots and copings are made of stainless steel, but it was found to be corroded in a short period (a month or so) at an early stage of the construction As a result of presentation and some trial applications the Ritecoat system was adopted to protect 1,000m² of stainless steel surfaces.

Toshiba Osaka Building, Japan

2,000m² of external anodised aluminium panels have been renovated and protected with the Ritecoat system. The building is located in the centre of Osaka City. The exterior wall of aluminium panels is always subject to air pollution and exhaust fumes. It had been deteriorated by UV rays and stained black by rain.
